This intro to this episode is Maya's second return to Alberta. The main focus is to show us how much she's changed from her first visit (i.e. she isn't flaunting her tragic back story every few seconds).

In other words, this has no relevance to the rest of the episode. Wonderful.

Back at Payon Dungeon, Roan and the Archer Guild still can't figure out that they should either try doing something about the bell ringing or just destroy the Amulets.

Rin's blind confidence becomes her undoing, as the zombies respawn and try to feel her up again.

Roan shows up to save her ass at the last second and starts to bitch at her for not wasting any more arrows on a fight they aren't winning at all.

Rin even drops Roan a big hint: Maybe, just MAYBE, they should go after the thing ringing the bell. That would stop the monster respawns and they wouldn't be wasting time killing things that just come back to life seconds later.

...But Roan doesn't get it. At all. Isn't it wonderful that this story arc that's devoid of Iruga and Judia will last three episodes? It's not like I feel my brain shutting down from this constant exposure to Roan.

Instead of trying something that will put an end to this, Roan thinks that fighting off more of the zombies will really help their cause.

Nothing says you're awesome like lighting up a cave with bright green and yellow.

And off from the side is Takius throwing down Thunder Storms and Cold Bolts that are also useless. Roan, unfortunately, makes this a way of complaining at Rin for not doing her share of the work. No Roan, no one's listening to you because they want to.

The worst part about that complaint/speech is that the entire Archer Guild actually buys into it and starts wasting more of their time and arrows on this worthless effort.

I like to imagine that the arrow in the second screencap actually pierces Roan's brain.
